Three flags. Most players never stand on one.

How to Capture Islands

Harbor Havoc puts three capturable islands between the harbors and then watches most of the server ignore them. Badge counts put island captures well behind “you flew a plane.” That is free value. This page is how to take a flag, how to hold it, and why a closer spawn deletes harbors faster than another dogfight.

If you need the round basics, start with how to play. If you need a taxi, spawn the free Jet Ski or Basic Biplane from the vehicles hub.

How a capture works

Fly or ride onto the island. Stand on the flag. Stay there until the island flips to your color. You do not need a Battleship parked on the beach, though a hull nearby makes the next defense easier. If you die on the point, someone else has to finish the stand. Treat it like any other contested objective: more bodies, less hero play.

Once your team owns the island, it becomes a spawn. That is the whole reward. You skip the long run from home. Bombers get another pass. Defenders get a place to sit that is not the 25,000 HP building you are trying to keep alive.

There is also a hold. King of the Island is a separate badge from the first capture. Holding means you do not leave the second the color changes. Enemy air will come. A Destroyer or a parked gunner on the pad is worth more than a celebration pass over their harbor.

How to get there alive

Do not fly a straight line from your deck at wavetop height. That is a turret farm. Climb, or take a cheap boat that is hard to lead. The Jet Ski is built for this. One Token. No Gold. Bad guns. Good arrival time.

If the island is already red or blue and it is not yours, assume a defender. Strafe first or land on the far side. A Heavy Gunner can clear a pad. A Biplane can still cap if the pad is empty. Check the plane list if you keep arriving in the wrong frame.

Why islands win harbors

How to destroy the enemy harbor is a damage problem. Islands are a logistics problem. Every respawn from home is time the enemy harbor is not taking bombs. Two extra bomb runs per player per ten minutes will beat a slightly better Jet that never leaves mid-map.

Maps change the walk. Industrial, Country, Sci-Fi, and Medieval do not share the same island spacing. Event maps such as Festival, Arctic, Blossom, and Inferno can move the comfort spots. Use the islands page and the maps hub so you are not memorizing the wrong beach.

After the flag is yours

Spawn the next vehicle from the island if the menu allows it, or use the closer walk. Then go hit the harbor. An island that nobody leaves is a campsite. An island that feeds a siege is a win condition.

If you like water, park a Destroyer on the captured side and farm incoming air. If you like air, keep a gunner overhead. If Tokens are dry, stay on a turret. The controls page covers boarding. The ship list covers what to park.

Capture early. Hold if you can. Leave when the harbor needs the bomb. That is the entire island meta.
